Nature of Employment / Discretionary Employment:
Employment with Food City is voluntary, and every employee is free to resign voluntarily at any time, and with or without cause or prior notice. In the same way, Food City may terminate the employment relationship at its sole discretion, at any time, and with or without cause or prior notice.
No existing policy in this manual of principles and guidelines is intended to create a contract, nor shall it be understood as the basis of contractual obligations of any kind, or as a work contract between Food City and its employees. Employment Applications:
All candidates must complete an employment application of Food City. Saving Supermarkets is based on the fidelity of the information contained in the employment application, as well as on the accuracy of other information presented throughout the recruitment and employment process. Anti-Drug Employment Prior to Employment, During Employment, and Post-Accident:
Food City is committed to providing a safe, efficient and productive work environment for all its employees. Using drugs or being under the influence of drugs at work could represent serious health and safety risks.
Every applicant and employee should know that as a condition of employment with Food City, they must satisfactorily complete a pre-employment examination, once the job offer has been made, which includes monitoring to detect the presence of certain drugs in their organization. Employment depends on completing this test successfully. If the result of the examination indicates that it could have been altered or affected by an individual, the candidate will be disqualified from consideration for employment, or subject to termination of employment.
